British Gymnastics names Premier as official delivery partner

March 23, 2018

British Gymnastics has announced Premier as an Official Delivery Partner of British Gymnastics for extra-curricular gymnastics in primary schools.

Premier deliver curricular and extra-curricular P.E. and sport programmes in approximately 15% of schools across England and last year saw over ten million visits to their sessions. The partnership will focus on increasing the number of extra-curricular gymnastics sessions in primary schools in England over a three-year period.

British Gymnastics will assist Premier’s activity professionals through education and delivery support. As a result of the partnership, it is hoped participation rises from 23,000 individuals taking part in extra-curricular gymnastics to over 32,000 by 2021 with an additional 250 gymnastics instructors qualifying each year.

Dave Marshall, Participation Director of British Gymnastics said “The popularity of gymnastics in the UK continues to grow and demand to take part in gymnastics currently outweighs supply. We are delighted to have Premier come on board as a partner. Our values align well and we support their vision that participation in sport and activity leads to greater confidence and improved personal development. We know this partnership will have a positive impact benefitting young people and help to bridge the gap between demand and supply.”

Jane Hannah, Premier Partnerships Manager comments “With demand for gymnastics being so high, the ultimate goal of working in partnership with British Gymnastics is to ensure that we can offer more young people opportunities to take part in gymnastics sessions.

“This exciting new partnership will include tailored training opportunities for Premier’s network of 1000+ Activity Professionals ensuring they are skilled to the highest level to offer outstanding experiences to the young people they work with. Premier as the largest provider of sport and physical activity in primary schools in England are perfectly placed to partner with British Gymnastics to meet the demand of the sport.”
