Bolt to Compete in Nitro Athletics

February 2, 2017

Eight-time Olympic gold medallist sprinter Usain Bolt will lead a team in a new athletics event this week. Jamaican Bolt, who recently lost his 2008 relay gold medal after teammate Nesta Carter was retrospectively disqualified after a reanalysis of doping samples, will lead one of six teams in Nitro Athletics this saturday.

The new event, to take place in Melbourne, will combine traditional and new track events in a way IAAF President Lord Coe says ”will revolutionise athletics”.

Six teams include Bolt’s All-Stars will compete in three one-day meets, with a number of innovative events to be premiered at the event.

Bolt has stated that he still intends to retire after this year’s World Championships in London.
