Beko Expand Sponsorship of Erebus Motorsport

V8 Supercars team Erebus Motorsport have signed a deal with Beko for the electronics brand to sponsor the outfit for the rest of the season.
The international appliance manufacturer, stomach who have been minor backers of the cash-strapped team throughout the season, doctor have stepped up to a more major role to coincide with the rollout of Beko’s new corporate logo.
With the deal comes a new livery for Davison’s No. 9 Mercedes, which he will share with brother Alex Davison in the upcoming Pirtek Enduro Cup events, starting with next weekend’s Wilson Security Sandown 500.
“There’s an increased level of excitement around the enduro phase of our year so we wanted to meet that with a different look to capture that enthusiasm, additionally with our valued partners Beko also introducing a new logo to the marketplace, we saw it as a great opportunity to incorporate both into a new design,” Erebus Motorsport CEO Ryan Maddison said.
Beko has been great supporters of Erebus Motorsport since late 2012 and the Beko brand is performing very well internationally so it is extremely pleasing that they have taken a strategic step in their partnership with the team to the next level for the remainder of the year.”
Beko Australia and New Zealand managing director Michael Goadby commented: “Our new logo represents a new identity for Beko and this is the perfect way to showcase that,” Goadby said. “We love being a part of high profile events and we’re excited about the remainder of the year with Erebus.”
The livery gets its first hit out at Erebus Motorsport’s final pre-enduro test day at Queensland Raceway on Tuesday.
Despite increasing success on track, the team has been struggling to land a major sponsor to support the Betty Klimenko-owned squad. The cars have featured a rotating cast of sponsor’s logos since the end of their previous deals with Irwin Tools, SP Tools and Heavy Haulage Australia at the end of 2013.
The announcement of the Beko deal, which will see Davison’s entry renamed as “Erebus Team Beko” for the remainder of the season, comes as the team continue to negotiate an extension of the AMG Customer Sports agreement which ends at the end of 2014.
