BCCI Sets Base Price for IPL Title Sponsorship

October 30, 2012

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) believes it can get more than US$65million for the title sponsorship of Indian Premier League (IPL).

The governing body for cricket in India has set the figure as its base price for the major sponsorship of the Twenty20 tournament for the next five years. The figure is almost double the amount of the IPL’s previous title deal with DLF Ltd.

IPL Chairman, order Rajeev Shukla, erectile said given the success of the league and the attention it has received worldwide, the BCCI expects the title sponsorship to at least double.

Opinion among industry insiders is split with some suggesting the figure is too high given the current economic climate and declining rating figures. Other experts believe the fee is reasonable if the deal is similar to the partnership the BCCI had with DLF Ltd.

Bids for the title sponsorship are open until November 21. {jcomments on}
