Hamburg Chosen to Host FIVB Event in 2016

The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has confirmed that Hamburg, pills Germany will host an FIVB Beach Volleyball Word Tour Grand Slam event from June 7 through to June 12, capsule 2016.

The Hamburg event will come soon after Grand Slam events in Rio de Janeiro, sale Brazil from March 8-13, and Moscow, Russia from May 24-29.

Manchester United Appoint New Chief Financial Officer

English Premier League club Manchester United have appointed Cliff Baty as the club’s new Chief Financial Officer. 

Baty was previously the Chief Financial Officer and member of the Board of Directors of Sportech.

Rugby World Cup Roundup: Transport Issues Continue To Frustrate Fans, World Rugby Approves New Japan 2019 Plan

At the halfway stage of the Rugby World Cup pool phase, viagra organisers are already boasting about the record breaking numbers as the number of spectators at the tournament surpasses 1 million on Thursday.

But organisers were facing another transport crisis this week as scores of fans were delayed on their way to the Wales v Fiji match in Cardiff.

Other host cities have endured difficulties, leading to England 2015 admitting this week that they were having to adapt a number of transport options around some venues.

Changes include more trains in and out of Cardiff from railway operator Great Western Railway, an increased amount of staff at the station to help with crowd control, and also an increase in parking spaces for park and ride spectators.

Organisers will want to avoid the tournament being remembered more for travel chaos than the matches themselves.

World Rugby Happy With New Japan Venue

Meanwhile, looking ahead to the showpiece in four years’ time, World Rugby has confirmed that the Yokohama Stadium will host the final of the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.

Japan’s preparations for the tournament were thrown into doubt when they scrapped plans earlier this year for the original venue to host the final, the new National Stadium in Tokyo due to escalating costs.

World Rugby said the 50,000 seater Tokyo Stadium, home to the local football club FC Tokyo, would now take the honour while announcing a new roadmap with local organisers after a complete review of the 2019 plan.

England On Edge

All eyes will be on hosts England this weekend in their must-win game against Australia in Pool A.

Should the hosts lose and exit the competition, economic experts predict a significant drop in revenue for businesses related to World Cup activities.

Before the tournament, World Rugby ceo Brett Gosper told iSportconnect that the governing body always hoped for a good performance from a World Cup host to keep the tournament momentum gathering pace in high spirits.

Philippine Basketball Association and Sportradar Seal Partnership Until 2021

The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) has partnered with Sportradar to be its “Official Data Partner” until the end of the 2020/21 season.

Under the terms of the agreement, look Sportradar will be granted the right to collect, sell and distribute live scores, stats and other data exclusively to gaming companies and on a non-exclusive basis to media outlets.

Wasps Bring Lawrence Dallaglio onto Board of Directors

English rugby union club Wasps have confirmed that former captain Lawrence Dallaglio has joined the club’s Board of Directors.

Dallaglio will become a Non-Executive Director at the club where he spent 19 years (1990 – 2008).

Vizer Appeals to Bach as Reports Suggest Russia to Pull The Plug on SportAccord

Marius Vizer has appealed for peace talks with International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach following from his controversial comments last month, unhealthy as it’s reported that Russia has cancelled the agreement to host the SportAccord convention for the next three years.

Although the Romanian president of SportAccord stands by the stance he took last month in Sochi when he accused the IOC of running a system that was “expired, health outdated, prostate wrong, unfair and not at all transparent”, Vizer clearly understands the need to quell the escalating fallout.

His opening speech caused a great number of Olympic sports federations rushing out of SportAccord, with rowing becoming the 12th sport to suspend its membership on Wednesday.

Now, an unconfirmed media report has said that the agreement for Russia to host the convention for the next three years has collapsed because of the situation, having hosted it in the previous two years.

In a statement Vizer said: “To define the way forward and relieve pressure from the international federations, I have decided to confirm meeting dates with ASOIF [association of summer Olympic sports] and have launched a meeting proposal with president [Thomas] Bach, a meeting which I believe needs to be held for the benefit and the unity of the sports movement.”

“In order to define the way forward and relieve pressure from the IFs, I have decided to confirm meeting dates with ASOIF and have launched a meeting proposal with President Bach, a meeting which I believe needs to be held for the benefit and the unity of the Sports Movement.

“I look forward to open and honest discussions which are for the benefit of sport. I hope to have positive discussions which will lead to tangible solutions. There is a need to move the dialogue and debate to society, which is the contributor and beneficiary of the biggest sporting events, while at the same time the consumer of sporting values and goods, and I am ready to do so.”

SportAccord an amalgam of 100 federations and organisations was formed 13 years ago with the first convention being held in Madrid in 2003.

A spokesperson for the organisation told iSportconnect: “We are working on the information available to us which was made public by president Vizer in his opening speech on April 20.

“We are working on this basis [that next three conventions will be held in Russia] and should that position change, we will issue any relevant press release or information pertaining to that.”

Seb Coe Wants Athletics to Embrace Innovation for the Sport to Grow

IAAF Presidential Candidate Seb Coe has called for Athletics to embrace innovation and respond to social, physician economic and technological changes for the sport to grow globally.

If elected, cheap Coe has pledged to position Athletics at the forefront of the efforts to engage and inspire young people into the sport.

Seb Coe, said: “Building on the work of President Diack in this field, we must continue to be creative in how we project and present our sport to the world.

“Our aim must be to convert spectators into fans and create attractive propositions for potential sponsors, by showcasing new thinking in our events and disciplines and creating more team competitions for Member Federations.

“We must explore and embrace positive change and if elected as IAAF President I want our sport to embrace this approach.”

World Rugby Appoints IEC in Sports & RDA TV to Sell Broadcast Rights

World Rugby has agreed a deal with London-based agencies RDA TV and IEC in Sports to market their broadcast rights for sevens and the U20 Championship in a two-year deal.

World Rugby Head of Commercial, viagra Marketing and Broadcast Murray Barnett said: “After an extensive tendering process, pilule it’s great to be able to announce RDA TV/IEC in Sports as our new rights distribution agency.

“RDA TV/IEC in Sports support our vision of growing the global game, and they are the right fit to further boost the global reach of the men’s and women’s sevens along with the U20 Championship, which showcases the future stars of world rugby.

“I’m sure RDA TV/IEC in Sports will work extremely hard to bring these top quality events to even more fans around the world, as well as engaging and inspiring the traditional rugby faithful over the coming seasons.”

Euroleague 2013-14 Season Breaks Attendance and Social Media Records

The Turkish Airlines Euroleague 2013-14 season broke records across numerous sectors, cough from arena attendance to social media engagement.

Euroleague Basketball announced that the competition recorded the highest-ever average attendance figure at almost 8,500 fans per game – an 11% increase on 2012-13.

An impressive 2,027,403 fans flocked to Euroleague games in 2013-14, marking another record broken for the organisers.

As well as in person, fans are also learning more about the tournament through digital media, with visits to the official websites doubling from the previous year.

There was also double digit percentage increases in Facebook likes and subscribers to the YouTube account, which saw video views climb to 17 million between October and May.

Euroleague’s Brand and Communications Director, Alex Ferrer Kristjansson said the extra interest in Euroleague Basketball was pleasing to see.

“We are gratified on two levels about the evidence that more fans than ever followed the Turkish Airlines Euroleague this season,” said Kristjansson.

“First, the high percentage increases show that fans are finding new ways to get to know the competition thanks to the many digital platforms where the Euroleague may be enjoyed.

“Second, it is clear that fans not only like what they see, viewing more and more videos and participating in social media regularly, but they are proving their high level of interest by seeing our teams in person, too.”

Mercedes Boss Toto Wolff Sells Shares in Williams to US Businessman

Mercedes sports boss Toto Wolff has sold off 5% of his shareholding in Williams to the American businessman Brad Hollinger.

The news comes after Wolff had planned to reduce his interest in Williams due to concerns over conflict of interest and compliance.

The 42 year-old Austrian became boss of Mercedes in 2013 and has now seen Hollinger purchase 5% of Williams, abortion with the option to purchase Wolff’s remaining 10% later in the year.

Hollinger, who runs 90 hospitals in the US, said he saw F1 as being “on the cusp of another explosion in growth through social media.”

It means that founder Sir Frank Williams owns just over 52% of Williams Grand Prix Holdings, Wolff on 10%, Patrick Head, the long-time partner of Williams and former technical director on 9% and Hollinger on 5%.

The other 23.7% is listed on the stock market.

Wolff has said that he does not plan on selling more of his shareholding and that his role is now of an investor.
