Yaya Touré Becomes New Face of Puma

BT has become the Official Communications Services Partner of St. George’s Park, the first of a select number of blue-chip partners of The Football Association’s new National Football Centre, under development in Burton upon Trent.

In an exclusive five year, multi-million pound agreement, coaches, players and business users of St. George’s Park will all benefit from a state-of-the-art, bespoke, high-speed BT iNet voice and data network, plus BT Openzone Wi-fi.

A-League’s Wellington Phoenix Extend Partnership with Brewery

Australian A-League team Wellington Phoenix has extended its partnership with DB Export 33 for a further two years.

The new sponsorship contract has been signed with the club for the both the 2011/12 and 12/13 Hyundai A-League seasons, which will see DB Export 33 again feature as the official beer sponsor of the Wellington Phoenix.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Receive New Bank Sponsor

Community Bank & Co. has been named the official bank of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers under a five-year marketing agreement.

In becoming a “Pewter Partner,” Community Bank will offer Buc fan checking accounts at all 17 of its locations and run the ATMs at Raymond James Stadium. The bank also gains rights to use Buccaneers’ logos and display signage throughout Raymond James Stadium.

In a promotion running this season and next, the bank will add $5 to a new Bucs fan checking account whenever the team wins a game. “And if they win the Super Bowl, we’ll give them $10,” said Trevor Burgess, CEO of Community Bank’s majority shareholder, CBM Florida Holding Co.

The Bucs have not had an official bank since an agreement with BB&T ended in 2008.

Community Bank, which is based in Manatee County, has been eager to expand its brand name and physical presence in the Tampa Bay area. Its strategy centers in part on buying problem banks and recapitalizing them.

Community acquired the troubled First Community Bank of America in Pinellas Park last summer, but recently backed out of a deal to buy struggling Old Harbor Bank of Clearwater.

Yeovil Town Get American Sports Construction Firm Sponsor

English League One team, medic Yeovil Town, physician have secured a £1.25 million ($2m) sponsorship deal with American sports construction firm Blue Sky International.

A further £500,000 ($800,000) will go towards a ten-year programme of pre-season tours to North America and the Caribbean.

Puma Become Borussia Dortmund’s New Shirt Sponsor

Puma , a German sportswear company, have announced today that it has entered into a new partnership with the German Bundesliga Champions, Borussia Dortmund.

Effective from the 1st July 2012, this new technical partnership will see Puma provide official playing kits for all associated Borussia Dortmund teams, including the senior mens and all youth teams, as well as becoming the club’s official partner in relation to replica kits, fanwear and other merchandise. They will replace Italian brand Kappa who were previous shirt sponsors.

Puma will provide playing kits for Borussia Dortmund for the 2012/13 season and for multiple seasons to follow.  A full range of replica kits, fanwear and merchandise will also be launched at this time.  As part of PUMA’s commitment to the partnership, the global Sportlifestyle brand is providing football boots for players of all levels within the Borussia Dortmund club who don’t have existing boot contracts, this part of the contract is already in effect for the 2011/12 season, as is the individual shoe contract with Borussia Dortmund coach Jürgen Klopp which was announced at the beginning of the current 2011/12 season.

Hyundai Become Title Sponsors of Soccer Exhibition Between LA Galaxy & Melbourne Victory

Hyundai Motor Company Australia have announced they have obtained the exclusive naming rights for the soccer clash between LA Galaxy and Melbourne Victory.

Two of the biggest names in global football come together with David Beckham and LA Galaxy come head to head with local superstar Harry Kewell and Melbourne Victory in December.

The Hyundai Club Challenge Melbourne, to be played on 6th December at Etihad Stadium, will feature football superstars Harry Kewell, Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan with David Beckham visiting Melbourne for the first time to play in the match between his U.S. team LA Galaxy and the Hyundai A-League’s Melbourne Victory Football Club.

This is the second time Hyundai has sponsored the Club Challenge. In November 2007, Hyundai supported the L.A. Galaxy vs. Sydney F.C. exhibition match again featuring David Beckham and current Qantas Socceroo Alex Brosque. A capacity crowd of 56,000 is expected to pack Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium for the exhibition match, which sees a showdown between Beckham – the most famous football player in the world – and Harry Kewell – one of Australia’s best and most popular players. Tickets are selling fast with close to 50% already sold.
