Subaru to Title Sponsor 2013 Ironman Events in Canada

IRONMAN have announced Subaru as the title sponsor of 2013 IRONMAN events in Canada.

Subaru will sponsor North American Championship – Subaru IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant on August 18, herbal Subaru IRONMAN Canada on August 25 in Whistler, B.C., Subaru IRONMAN 70.3 Mont-Tremblant on June 23, and Subaru IRONMAN 70.3 Muskoka on September 8. 

Subaru’s involvement with triathlon in Canada dates back to the mid-1990s with Subaru IRONMAN Canada. This involvement grew to include the Subaru Triathlon Series and eventually races from east to west with the Subaru East Coast Triathlon Series, Subaru Western Triathlon Series, the Subaru of Hamilton Running Series and the Subaru IRONMAN 70.3 Muskoka. Subaru’s title sponsorships in Canada now include prestigious IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec. This broadening of Subaru’s title sponsorships in Canada reaffirms Subaru’s dedication to promoting healthy lifestyles to Canadians in a family-friendly way. 

In partnership with Rogers Sportsnet, Subaru IRONMAN TV will return with a four-race television series including Subaru IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant North American Championship, Subaru IRONMAN Canada, the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship and the IRONMAN World Championship.

Carlsberg Restructures Castleford Tigers Sponsorship

English Rugby League team, Castleford Tigers have announced today a restructured sponsorship deal with Carlsberg UK.

As part of the new agreement, the iconic Tetley’s brand will appear as one of the Club’s sponsors on the home and away kit during the 2014 season.

The deal follows the announcements last week that Ritz Bingo and Crossley Tyres have agreed new sponsorships with the Tigers.

Castleford Tigers’ Commercial Director, Mark Grattan said: “We are thrilled to have Tetley’s, one of the UK’s most celebrated brands, on the Club’s kit next season.

“Tetley’s is a well recognised brand and is established in Rugby League through their sponsorship of the Challenge Cup and previously of Super League.

“When the Commercial team came into the Club three months ago, one of our targets was to agree a restructured deal with Carlsberg UK and I’m pleased that we have achieved that.

“This is the latest in a number of new sponsorship deals that we will be announcing over the coming weeks, including our main kit sponsor.”

Freescale Joins Austin Marathon as Presenting Sponsor

Freescale Semiconductor announced today it will be the Presenting Sponsor of the Austin Marathon and Half Marathon.

Freescale (previously known as Motorola Semiconductor Products Sector) helped create the Austin Marathon and Half Marathon in 1991 and produced the race through 2006. The Austin Marathon and Half Marathon presented by Freescale will take place on Sunday, seek Feb. 16, pharm 2014.

Nike Reportedly Set to Sign Tiger Woods Sponsorship Extension

Nike are set to re-sign golf powerhouse Tiger Woods to a new deal according to ESPN. 

Tiger Woods agent, Mark Steinberg has said Nike and Woods are close to closing out a deal that would “emphatically” keep Woods as Nike’s highest-paid golfer in the world.

Woods has made himself more marketable this year following four wins out of the eight PGA Tour tournaments that he has entered and finishing T4 at the Masters.

Steinberg said: “This process went as such where I never had to get out in the market to test the waters in a formal way. That’s a good thing, because I think some of the most memorable moments throughout Tiger’s career to date are linked with Nike.”

“We’re down to the very, very short strokes right now … I would expect we would come out with some sort of joint announcement when we get the paperwork signed. I hope this is viewed as a pretty bold statement.”

KELME to Supply Buddh International Circuit

Jaypee Sports International Ltd (JPSI) has signed up Spanish sports and lifestyle brand KELME as the official supplier and licensed merchandise partner for Buddh International Circuit (BIC). 

Under the deal KELME will have exclusive rights to design, viagra 40mg develop and sell BIC branded motorsport and lifestyle apparel and accessories across India, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, the company said in a statement. 

BIC is the host for Formula 1 Grand Prix, World Superbike Championship and other motorsport events.

JPSI managing director and CEO Sameer Gaur said: “There has always been a lot of interest for merchandise among motorsport fans, and with KELME on board, we intend to offer more variety of stylish and trendy BIC collection.”

James Anderson Becomes New Face of Hairbond

England cricket star James Anderson has announced an endorsement deal with men’s haircare brand Hairbond until September 2014.

Anderson, who is England’s third highest Test wicket taker, will feature in a number of marketing campaigns for the company.

“Looking forward to working with @Hairbond as their new brand ambassador,” Anderson said on his twitter page.

Samsung to Sponsor Royal Rowing Regatta

South Korean multinational company, physician Samsung has announced it will sponsor the Royal Rowing Regatta.

The Regatta is taking place next weekend to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation.

As part of the deal Samsung will equip the event with its Samsung F8000 Smart TV and the HT-F9750W Home Cinema System, as well as the latest range of digital appliances

Toronto Pearson International Airport to Sponsor 2015 Pan Am & Parapan Am Games

The Toronto 2015 Games have partnered with the Greater TorontoAirports Authority (GTAA), for the Toronto Pearson International Airport to become the Official Welcome Partner and Official Supplier of Airport Services for the Games.

In this role, Canada’s largest airport will welcome the tens of thousands of athletes, spectators, media and dignitaries from the 41 Pan American countries coming to take part in the largest multi-sport Games, ever hosted in this country.

“We are delighted to join the Pan Am team as the Official Welcome Partner of the Games. Toronto Pearson is looking forward to supporting athletes and guests alike, and welcoming them to the GTA for this great event,” said Pamela Griffith-Jones, vice president of guest and terminal services for the GTAA.

Emirates to Embark on First US Sport Sponsorship with New York Cosmos Deal

North American Soccer League (NASL) team, New York Cosmos are set to reveal Emirates as their new shirt sponsor in a multi-year deal.

The deal will be announced at a press conference featuring Pelé in N.Y. on Tuesday. Outside of some hospitality deals, the Cosmos agreement will be Emirates’ first sponsorship with a U.S. sports team.

However, the airline has various tennis and golf sponsorships in the U.S., including title sponsorship of the U.S. Open summer tennis series.

The team and Emirates officials also have begun discussions on a naming-rights deal for a future stadium — a venue that, as yet, has no blueprints, funding or governmental approvals. The football club will begin play in James M. Shuart Stadium on the campus of Hofstra Univ.

Emirates sponsors several of Europe’s top football clubs, including a stadium naming-rights and jersey deal with EPL club Arsenal, as well as sponsorships with La Liga club Real Madrid, Serie A club AC Milan and Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain.

This follows New York Cosmos announcing Nike as their kit supplier last week.

Caterham Set to Provide Le Mans Entry

Caterham have revealed they will enter this year’s Le Mans 24 Hour race with the Zytek Z11SN-Nissan driven by GP2 driver Alexander Rossi.

Caterham says the entry will allow the team to investigate the viability of producing a customer sports-prototype package.

The LMP2 racer will be led by Caterham Technology CEO Mike Gascoyne alongside Greaves Motorsport. Gascoyne said: “Within Caterham Group, malady we have a great deal of experienced personnel with a wide range of technical expertise – from powertrain development to carbon composite design.

“While there won’t be any specification changes we can apply to the car for this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours, drugs because the car is homologated for the whole season, stomach we will be looking in more detail at how our various areas of expertise across both Caterham Technology & Innovation and Caterham Composites can be applied to a customer sports-prototype programme in future.

“We have the tools, the talent and the heritage to do the job in a marketplace that is currently light on existing players; so it makes sense for us to go and see first-hand how we might take advantage of a business opportunity that fits with our capabilities.”
