Nissan Agree Sponsorship Deal with Vasco da Gama

Nissan Brazil has announced it will sponsor Brasileirão club Vasco da Gama in a new four year deal.

The company logo will appear on the back of the shirts and shorts of all official game uniforms, prostate practice and travel, as well as on the official website, social networks and signaling of the three seats of the club – San Gennaro, Lagoa and Dungeon.

“We chose Vasco to be a club tradition, and the two institutions have in common support for diversity, social responsibility and the practice of sport as a platform for social transformation,” says François Dossa, president of Nissan. 

“Nissan is growing in the country with the construction of a new plant in the state of Rio de Janeiro and want to achieve 5% market share by 2016.”

IndyCar Agrees Marketing Partnership with All-American Soap Box Derby

FirstEnergy All-American Soap Box Derby have agreed a multi-year marketing partnership with IndyCar.

The agreement will place the IndyCar logo on Derby cars this year in Akron and spread from there in 2014. IndyCar will also promote and display the Derby logo.

The cross-promotion agreement does not bring in money to the Derby but will give the nonprofit program significant brand exposure, he said.

The Derby board approved the agreement on Thursday. IndyCar declined to comment until its executives formally sign off, a move expected no later than Monday, according to a spokesman in Indianapolis.

Mazur said one of his priorities when he became Derby president in 2011 and was charged with turning it around from its near-death was to partner with IndyCar. The Derby is now much more financially strong, Mazur said.

The Derby will be promoted in 30-second commercials on giant video screens at IndyCar racetracks, on the IndyCar website and through other measures, Mazur said. IndyCar also is agreeing to invite local Derby race champions to two of its races, he said.

Caroline Wozniacki Loses Yonex as Racquet Sponsor

Former World No.1 Caroline Wozniacki will no longer have Yonex as her racquet sponsor after the Japanese manufacturer ended their partnership.

Wozniacki had been playing with a Babolat racquet her entire career, before switching to Yonex in 2011, but recently, as of last month’s Eastbourne, the former world No.1 confused tennis fans, and apparently her racquet sponsor Yonex, by using a blacked-out racquet frame.

According to reports, Wozniacki has been using a masked Babolat racquet, thus forcing Yonex to end their contract, which has been confirmed by Nordic Yonex director, Benni Holst Andersen. 

“We have stopped the contract with Caroline,” said Andersen to Ekstra Bladet.

Liverpool Extend Shirt Sponsorship Deal with Standard Chartered

Liverpool Football Club have announced they have renewed their partnership with Standard Chartered Bank for a further two years with the banking institute remaining a main sponsor.

The bank signed up as the Club’s main sponsor in July 2010, sale appearing on the front of the Red’s shirt for the last three seasons. The partnership has now been extended to run until the end of the 2015/16 season. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

As part of the Club’s strategy to bring fans closer to the Club no matter where they are in the world, drug Liverpool FC has just embarked on a tour of Asia and Australia in partnership with Standard Chartered, where they will play in front of packed stadiums in Jakarta, Melbourne and Bangkok.

Ford to Sponsor South African Rally Championship

Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA) today announced its sponsorship of the fifth round of the South African Rally Championship.

The Ford Dealer Rally will take place on 16 and 17 August with Ford’s Silverton Assembly Plant serving as the base for the event.

Ford has been involved in national championship racing since 2000, doctor when the first Off Road vehicle made its debut. Since then Ford’s participation has grown from strength to strength with Ford now the only manufacturer participating in all three major national championship disciplines, cough namely: Cross Country, cheap Circuit Racing and Rallying.
