Pricing Strategy Revealed for 2015 Rugby World Cup

With two years to go until the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England, the organisers of the event have unveiled the pricing strategy for the tournament.

It will be the first time England will host the event exclusively and demand for tickets is expected to soar.

England Rugby 2015 Chief Executive Debbie Jevans hailed the affordable pricing around Rugby’s showpiece event.

“I’m really excited that there will be the opportunity to watch a match for £7 and £15, even in England’s pool games,” Jevans said.

“The most expensive ticket at the final is £715 but the entry price for concessions will be £7 and £15 for all of the pool matches.”

Tournament organisers will call upon the assistance of 6000 volunteers for the event and Jevans explained how grassroots rugby clubs will be at the forefront of the drive for volunteers.

“75% of our volunteers are going to come from the rugby family and I’m really excvited about that,” she said.

“Every club in the country will have the opportunity to have at least one volunteer.”

RFU Chief Executive Ian Ritchie explained staging the Rugby World Cup is a great opportunity to help grow the game and increase participation.

“One of the most important things about the Rugby World Cup is generating interest and participation,” he said.

“To do this with local authorities and host cities and around schools who are trying to participate in rugby that don’t normally play is a great opportunity.”

Caterham F1 New HQ to be Refurbished

Caterham F1 have announced renovation and refurbishment work has started at their new base in Leafield, buy viagra | Oxfordshire.

The Formula One team, sale who competed in the 2010/11 seasons as Lotus, will move from their current site in Hingham, Norfolk, after the Hungarian event later this month.

“It is hard to believe that it is less than three years since we first walked into the empty factory in Hingham where we started the F1 team back in 2009,” said team principal Tony Fernandes.

“At that point we had four full-time employees, a couple of notepads and a rather daunting job list that many people said was utterly unachievable.

“The Caterham Group is now the embodiment of all the ideas and dreams we had in 2009 and now, with Leafield open for business, we have put in place the next vital stage for the continuing development of all the Caterham Group businesses. The F1 and GP2 teams will be first in place in Leafield, and Caterham Cars will be moving its HQ to Leafield in due course.

“The first task is to refurbish the whole site and prepare it for a long and successful future. While that work is taking place the F1 team’s race trucks have left Hingham with our 2012 race cars for the last time. The next time they are back in the UK they will go straight to Leafield and that is excellent news for everybody associated with Caterham Group.

“More than 200 of the F1 team staff are making the move to Oxfordshire over the next few weeks and when we have finished the refurbishment, in late October 2012, we will have a facility that will put us on a par with the teams we are trying to catch in F1.”

Caterham’s technical director Mark Smith added: “In common with most of the current employees of the F1 team I have moved back nearer to our new base in Leafield and I am very excited about the future this gives us, not just for the F1 team but Caterham Group as a whole. The Leafield site is perfect for our needs in F1, GP2 and all our interests in motorsport now and in the future, and it also gives us the platform to expand into any industry that sees that we can provide new ideas and world-class performance.

“One of the immediate benefits of the move is in attracting people to come and work with us. There has never been an issue with people not sharing our vision, being as excited about our future as everyone who works with Tony and CEO Riad (Asmat) are, but it was undeniable that geography may have prevented us from expanding at quite the rate we want to.

“Now Leafield is open we have no barriers. We are in the heart of the motorsport industry, not only in the UK but worldwide, and we have an aggressive employment plan in place that will help us keep moving up the grid. With so much investment made in giving us this platform to work from now it is down to the people who work in Caterham Group and everybody we work with to help us keep achieving our goals and we could not ask for better motivation than that.”

Although Caterham’s Formula One operation will move to the Oxfordshire site, which previously housed Arrows and Super Aguri, the Hingham factory will continue to expand as the home of Caterham Composites and Caterham Technology and Innovation.

Miami Heat Sponsors Profiting from Playoff Run

With the Miami Heat two games away from a Championship, their sponsors are reaping the benefits.

With sponsorship monies typically covering just the NBA’s regular season, the fact that the Heat have already assured their sponsors maximum exposure, on the NBA’s biggest stage, has to have their sponsors excited. While the extra exposure is great for sponsors, the team also benefits from a sponsorship because they typically are allowed to keep most, if not all of the sponsorship money. It’s truly a win-win, especially when you have a successful team like the Heat.

“Who wouldn’t want to come to Miami and see the Three Kings play?” asked Lori Medici, vice president of marketing for Miaami-based apparel maker Perry Ellis, a Heat sponsor since 1999.

Experts have estimated that some of the Heat’s sponsors have paid upwards of $500,000, with that price varying depending uupon when they signed a sponsorship agreement with the team.

Sponsors like Perry Ellis spend the year setting up photo shoots with the team in Perry Ellis apparel, dressing the ushers in Perry Ellis clothing, and giving away their own Cubavera tops to the crowd. It’s all in an effort to remind fans of the brand the next time they update their wardrobe.

With the Heat heading into game 4 the maximum number of games will be played in Miami this season, Perry Ellis, and other Heat sponsors will receive 14 extra games of exposure, be it signage, promotions or print.

“For us, it’s all about product placement,” said vice president Medici. The company also has outfitted broadcast staff and cheerleaders, and hosted Heat players to its stores to autograph basketballs.

More Arrests in Turkey Match-Fixing Scandal

The Turkish soccer match-fixing scandal has taken another twist today as Turkish police have detained the chairman of Trabzonspor, widening an investigation which has already put 26 people in jail pending trial and left Turkish soccer in disarray.

The major nationwide investigation has plunged preparations for the new season into chaos less than a month before kick-off and could result in champions Fenerbahce being stripped of their title.

The detention of Trabzonspor’s Sadri Sener came just hours after the chairman of Fenerbahce, Aziz Yildirim, was remanded in custody on charges of match-fixing and forming a criminal organisation.

Trabzon’s Sener was on a list of 22 people who were expected to be held in a second wave of detentions a week after police launched their first raids.

Police also detained the former Turkish Football Federation chairman Mahmut Ozgener at his home in the Aegean province of Izmir and were bringing him to Istanbul.

Shares in Fenerbahce tumbled on the Istanbul Stock Exchange last week on speculation it could be stripped of its title.

Shares in Trabzonpsor, runners-up last season, rose last week on speculation they could be awarded the title but they fell 5.5 percent on Monday after the detention of its chairman. Fenerbahce dipped 2.8 percent.

Other Fenerbahce board members are also among the 26 people who have been remanded in custody after police raids a week ago, prompted by evidence of manipulation in 19 matches.

Angry Fenerbahce supporters demonstrated in their thousands in streets near the club’s stadium after the court ruling on Yildirim. The club won the league for a record 18th time last season.

Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, a member of the Fenerbahce congress, has called on fans to respect the judicial process and has said the match-fixing affair has stained Turkey’s image.

Meanwhile, European soccer’s governing body UEFA has set a deadline of July 15 for confirmation of the team taking part in the third Champions League qualifying round.

Those already jailed pending trial now include four Fenerbahce executives, the chairman of Sivasspor, the coach of Eskisehirspor, Sivasspor’s goalkeeper and the former chairmen of Diyarbakirspor and Giresunspor.
