Atletico Madrid Announce Stadium Name

Spanish football club Atletico Madrid have announced that their new stadium will be officially named Wanda Metropolitano.

The capital club, prostate who lost out to local rivals Real Madrid in May’s Champions League Final, nurse previously played at the Estadio Metropolitano de Madrid; until their move to their current home stadium, sales currently known as the Vicente Calderon, in 1966.

The Wanda Group own 20% of Atletico, and will sponsor the new stadium from the beginning of the 2017-18 campaign.

The club have also unveiled a new club badge, with captain Gabi declaring, ‘’I like the badge because it’s true to our history’’.
