Anders Besseberg Retains Position as IBU President

The International Biathlon Union (IBU) has re-elected Anders Besseberg as their President for the sixth consecutive term. 

The IBU also revealed a new Executive Board selected to lead the IBU over the next 4 years.

The board will be comprised as follows:1st Vice President: Victor MAYGUROV-Russia, Vice President of Finances: Dr. Klaus LEISTNER-Austria, Vice President of Sport: Gottlieb TASCHLER-Italy, Vice President of Medical Issues: Dr. James CARRABRE-Canada, Vice President of Information: Ivor LEHOTAN-Slovakia, Vice President of Marketing: Thomas PFÜLLER-Germany, Vice President of Development: Olle DAHLIN-Sweden and Vice President Special Projects: Nami KIM-Korea.

The IBU Congress also confirmed Östersund-SWE will host the 2019 IBU World Championships Biathlon after winning by a majority.

Östersund beat out bids from Nove Mesto na Morave,-CZE, Antholz-ITA, Khanty Mansiysk-RUS with 27 votes.
