AISTS appoints Dr. Tania Braga as Scientific Head of Sustainable Sport & Event

AISTS expands its capacity to provide
expertise in the area of sustainable sport and events.
AISTS announced Dr Tania Braga to take up the newly created position of Scientific Head of
Sustainable Sport & Event.
Dr. Braga has a PhD in applied economics from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP)
Brazil and has profound expertise in sustainability with more than 10 years of professional
experience in the area.
Former senior researcher at IMD Business School, clinic Dr. Braga brings to AISTS her solid scientific
background combined with a successful hands-on experience in managing sustainability projects
for local and national governments, find research institutions, global companies and NGOs.
The 39 years old Brazilian and French citizen is also a lecturer at the University of Lausanne
(Faculty of Geosciences and Environment).
In her new position, Dr. Braga will be responsible for the further development of The Sustainable
Sport and Event Toolkit (SSET) Centre, directing research and providing expertise to sports
organisations on how to enhance the environmental and social legacy of sports events. She will
contribute to the development of content and lectures for AISTS postgraduate, continuing and
executive education programmes.

Sustainable Sports and Event Seminar, first module taught by Dr Braga, will engage participants
from sports industry, research and governing bodies in an active project challenge, working
together to create a prototype of a sustainable sport event. It will take place from 23 June to 25
June at the EPFL in Lausanne. The seminar, opened to external participants and AISTS Executive
MBA participants, is also part of the Master in Sport Administration and Technology curriculum.
