32Red Inks Sponsorship Deals with Two New English Clubs
June 10, 2013
Online gaming operator 32Red has announced that it has signed a one-year sponsorship agreement with Newport County and a two-year deal with Crawley Town.
This follows 32 Red’s four-year shirt sponsorship deal with English Premier League soccer club Swansea City ending last month.
Next season is due to see Newport County play in League Two, which is the fourth-tier of professional football in England, after the Welsh side achieved promotion from the Blue Square Bet Premier division via the playoffs on May 5.
“This is another massive step forward for the club, attracting an international company to advertise its brand on our clubs shirts,” said Dave Boddy, Chief Executive Officer for Newport County.
“We are delighted to be working with 32Red and hope that is a stepping stone to developing relationships with other national companies and brands to compliment the excellent support we receive from local and regional businesses. It is a Premier League partner, having sponsored Swansea City last season and also previously been shirt sponsors of Aston Villa.”
Crawley Town achieved promotion to League Two in 2011 before going one better the following season by gaining a spot in League One. The ‘Red Devils’ subsequently finished their first season in the third-tier of English professional football in a very respectable tenth position and will be looking to do even better during the 2013/14 campaign.
“This is a tremendous deal for the football club,” said Ewan Dunlop, Commercial Manager for Crawley Town.
“We have attracted an internationally renowned company with a well-known brand who has an excellent track record of working with football clubs. It is previous sponsors of Swansea City and also worked with Aston Villa in the Premier League.
“We are thrilled that it can see many benefits, like ourselves, of a partnership with Crawley Town. We look forward to a long a fruitful relationship and to working closely with 32Red.”
Due to football advertising regulations, 32Red will be prohibited from advertising on the front of child-sized replica shirts with the Dreams and Wishes charity filling this role for Newport County.
“We are thrilled to support Newport County in its first season back in the football league,” said Mark Quayle, Head of Marketing for 32Red.
“Having sponsored two clubs in the top-flight, we’re now looking to invest in the roots of football. The ‘Exiles’ are one of those clubs that caught our eye when looking for potential deals and we’re confident the team has what it takes to make the sponsorship a success for us.
“We are delighted to support Crawley Town as it looks ahead to its second season in League One. Our previous football sponsorships have been a great success. We sponsored Aston Villa and watched them climb the Premier League table and we were lucky enough to sponsor Swansea City and share itheir success when promoted to the top-flight.
“We’re looking to extend our reach to the roots of football and we’re thrilled to announce our second shirt sponsorship in the football league this week. We’re confident that Crawley Town has what it takes to make the sponsorship a success for both parties and hope the trend of 32Red being a lucky sponsor continues.”
