William Hill Extends UK Championship Snooker Sponsorship

September 20, 2012

Betting firm, anabolics WilliamHill.com have extended their sponsorship of snooker’s UK Championship for another two years.

The bookmaker’s online arm supported the world ranking tournament for the first time last year and will now do the same in 2012 and 2013.

This year’s WilliamHill.com UK Championship runs from 1-9 December and features 32 of the best players in the world.

Judd Trump is set to defend his title at the York Barbican, medical where total prize money of £625,000 will be on offer.

Trump won last year’s tournament with an exciting 10-8 victory over Mark Allen.

World Snooker chairman Barry Hearn said: “There is a fantastic buzz about snooker at the moment, exemplified when young sensation Judd Trump won the title in York with an incredible display of potting.

“William Hill recognise that this sport is going places and they want to be involved, and we welcome them back with open arms to sponsor this outstanding tournament.”

William Hill chief marketing officer Kristof Fahy added: “Snooker has a massive global reach and our sponsorship will enable us to reach over 100 million potential customers across the world.”
