Rory McIlroy’s Fourth Major Win Elevates CBS Viewership

U.S. broadcaster CBS celebrated a win Sunday after Rory McIlroy’s victory in the PGA Championship got a 6.0 rating which was not only up 36% from last year but the highest rated PGA Championship in five years.

McIlroy’s victory was second only to the 7.5 in 2009 when Y.E. Yang defeated Tiger Woods.

The broadcast Sunday got a 9.2 rating from 8-8:30 p.m. ET when McIlroy was making his charge to hold off Phil Mickelson, Rickie Fowler and Henrik Stenson.

Yesterday’s win was McIlroy’s fourth Major victory.
