Jost Capito Leaves McLaren F1 Team

February 7, 2017

The Chief Executive of McLaren’s Formula One team has left his position after five months in charge.

German Jost Capito began work in September, having being appointed by former McLaren boss Ron Dennis. The 58-year-old previously won three World Rally Championships with Volkswagen.

Capito has only recently agreed departure terms, but he reportedly has not been performing his day-to-day duties with the company for around two months.

Dennis, who appointed Capito, was placed on gardening leave in November and currently has no active role in running the company. He remains a non-executive chairman of the McLaren group and a 25% shareholder in the organisation.
