FA Deny Emirates FA Cup Sponsorship Deal

April 29, 2015

The Football Association (FA) has moved to deny reports that they have agreed a deal with Emirates Airlines to title sponsor the FA Cup.

Reports emerged yesterday that the two parties had agreed a three-year £30 million deal that would see the famous cup competition be rebranded the ‘Emirates FA Cup’.

The competition has gone the entire season without a sponsor after the sponsorship deal with Budweiser ended at the end of last season.

However the FA have said no agreement is in place with a lead partner as yet.

An FA spokesman said: “We remain in discussion with a number of parties in relation to FA  Cup partner opportunities.”
