Bartercard Sponsor Huddersfield Giants

November 15, 2013

Huddersfield Giants, who are currently leading the Super League table, have unveiled an innovative new sponsorship deal with Bartercard, the UK’s largest business-to-business trade exchange.

As part of the deal, Bartercard becomes the club’s Associate Kit sponsor for the 2014 season, appearing on both the home and alternative shirts and shorts in return for credit that can be spent with any of Bartercard’s 35,000 members. The ‘Giants’ join a growing list of teams, including Hull F.C, Sheffield Wednesday and Bolton Wanderers, all of whom use Bartercard as a sponsor.

The deal allows the ‘Giants’ to spend the “Barter pounds” it earns from the sponsorship deal with the wide range of suppliers on the network. Last year £40m was traded on Bartercard in the UK.

Simon Barker, Bartercard UK CEO, commented: “We are hugely proud to sign the Huddersfield Giants to the Bartercard network. We know that 2014 is a significant year for the team which will celebrate the centennial anniversary of its most famous campaign when the legendary ‘Team of all Talents’ took home four of the top trophies in one season. We can’t wait to support and celebrate this momentous occasion with the team throughout the season.”

Huddersfield Giants Commercial Manager Paul Cribb added: “The Bartercard sponsorship is a strong strategic move for us. The bartering network allows us to engage with a large number of suppliers, which means we can preserve our cash reserves for use elsewhere. We’re incredibly proud to have Bartercard on board, and look forward to a strong year ahead.”
