Zappos Named Platinum Title Sponsor of Viva Bike Vegas Race

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) have announced that online retail outlet Zappos will be the platinum title sponsor of RTC Viva Bike Vegas 2013 Gran Fondo Pinarello Sponsored by Zappos.com, doctor a US cycling event open to all skill levels set to take place on 21 September and begin on the Las Vegas Strip.
Between 2,500 and 3,500 are expected to participate in the cycling event which includes 104-mile Gran Fondo, 61-mile Metric Century, and 17-mile rides.
Tina Quigley, RTC’s General Manager, emphasised Zappos’ role in the regeneration of Downtown Las Vegas, saying “Zappos has been a leading force in the rejuvenation of downtown Las Vegas, and the company continues to invest in its community partnerships. We are honoured to have the opportunity to partner with Zappos on Viva Bike Vegas, which will bring thousands of cyclists through our beloved downtown as they ride from the Strip to the beautiful vistas of the Las Vegas Valley”. Zappos, a subsidiary of Amazon, has invested considerably in the Las Vegas Valley and has supported a number of community and non-profit groups; the proceeds of the ride will be donated to four local charities: Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, After-School All-Stars Las Vegas, Communities in Schools of Nevada and Nevada Child Seekers.
