May 3, 2013

Yamaha Motor Europe has announced it will supply its Aerox R scooter to the MotoGP paddock.

The fleet of 25 official paddock scooters consist of the latest Aerox R model, which is a high-specification 50cc 2-stroke scooter, featuring R-series supersport-style bodywork and a new sports chassis. Each scooter is clad in special graphics and logos to signify their official role, and will be used for a raft of duties by MotoGP™ staff to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the championship. Yamaha has been supplying the official paddock scooters since 2005, making this its ninth year.

Jan Hendrik Krijnen, Division Manager, Yamaha Motor Europe, commented: “MotoGP is the world’s premier motorcycle racing championship, and Yamaha is proud to be associated with such an exciting and vibrant brand. The dynamic new Aerox R is designed to appeal to young riders looking for cutting edge style and race-inspired looks, and so it is the natural choice for a MotoGP paddock bike.”

Dorna Sports Managing Director Commercial Area Pau Serracanta added: “Dorna and Yamaha have worked closely together now for many years, and we are happy that we will have the use of Yamaha scooters once again in 2013. These Yamaha scooters allow us to get around the crowded paddock and circuit facilities as quickly as possible, enabling us to ensure everything is running on schedule.”
