World Sailing HQ to Relocate to London

February 1, 2017

World Sailing has announce that the global governing body’s international HQ will relocate from Southampton to London this year.

The relocation of the body from the South Coast city to the English capital will take place later n 2017, with World Sailing confirming that the relocation came after an extensive selection process following the appointment of Kim Andersen as the body’s President in September.

As well as Southampton and London, World Sailing evaluated Geneva and Lausanne in Switzerland, the English city of Winchester, and Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia in Spain.

Southampton, London, Barcelona and Valencia were shortlisted by World Sailing’s board of directors in December before London was announced as the preferred host. An office location in the centre of the city is to be identified before the move takes place later in the year.
