Wonga Renew Blackpool Shirt Sponsorship

The money-lending company has been the club’s shirt sponsor since the start of the Premier League season in 2010.

The deal caused a stir at the time, and with many supporters claiming Wonga were not a suitable sponsor for the club.

But they went a long way towards winning the fans over with a series of marketing campaigns and incentives for the Tangerine Army.

The money lender sponsor Scottish Premier League side Hearts and have recently agreed a deal with Newcastle United where they gained notoriety for gaining criticism from MPs for the level of interest charged by Wonga on its 30-day loans.
