Women’s World No. 1 Golfer Stacy Lewis Endorses Omega

March 22, 2013

Following her rise to world No. 1 golf player, physician Stacy Lewis has partnered with Swiss watch brand Omega.

Timepiece companies have branched into lifestyle companies, and in so doing most have added golfers as celebrity-endorsers. Rolex once owned the market with the likes of Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and a host of others. They still maintain a strong presense in the game as well as a wealthy of video rights as part of their deal to sponsor the World Golf Rankings.

Tag Heuer had Tiger Woods and Suzann Pettersen, both of whom have great appeal in Europe and Asia.

Omega has had deals with a number of golfers including Sergio Garcia and Davis Love III, who signed on with the company last summer. They also have James Bond (fictional super spy) and Michael Phelps (real swimmer). Now they have the No.1 female golfer in the world and only the second American ever to grace the top spot.

“I am honored to join the Omega family,” Lewis said. “This is such an exciting time in my career and I am proud to represent a brand that showcases determination, elegance and power – all things that I value both on and off the course.”

Omega President Stephen Urquhart said, “We are thrilled to welcome Stacy Lewis to the Omega family, where she joins a great group of some of the top players from the world of golf. Her recent surge to the top of the women’s ranking makes her an outstanding role model for professional golfers worldwide.”
