Overview:
The Football Association (The FA) is the governing body of football in England. We are responsible for promoting and developing the game at all levels; from grass roots through to the professional game, The FA Cup and the England International teams, and has two core assets: Wembley Stadium and St George’s Park.
The Role:
- To lead the Women’s Refereeing function ensuring delivery of the FA Women’s National Strategy
- To develop a National Strategy for Women Referees working in partnership with Leagues and Club Services and The FA Refereeing Department
- To work with the County Football Associations (CFA) Referee Development Officers/Managers to ensure that CFAs, local leagues, clubs and Higher Education Institutes (HEI) work collaboratively to increase the number of women referees at the grassroots level
- To contribute to the development of appropriate Referee Education modules for men and women referees working in the Women’s game
- To drive the development and on-going assessment of the Referee Educator workforce to ensure tailored provision for Women referees
- To ensure the effective resourcing and support for women to referee at the elite level including UEFA and FIFA
- To provide tailored learning, education & development opportunities for Referees working in the FA Women’s Super League, National and International competitions
- Any other duties which may be reasonably required from time to time and which are commensurate with the post

The Person:
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience;
- A comprehensive understanding of, and proven track record in refereeing
- Experienced professional leader who is able to maintain the highest standards and drive high performance
- Seasoned head of function with well developed leadership and process ownership and experience of managing a diverse team
- Comprehensive understanding of learning, education & development pathways
