Wolfgang Niersbach Re-Elected as DFB President

Wolfgang Niersbach will remain as the President of the German Football Association (DFB) until 2016 after being unanimously re-elected.

Niersbach said: “I’m extremely pleased with this clear vote and with the immense trust the Congress has placed in me.

“It is wonderful to have the full support of the state and regional associations and the League Association.

“I see it as an endorsement of my work and an incentive to continue along the same path.”

He has been a member of the DFB since 1988 and has held a variety of roles, including the press officer job and vice-president of the 2006 World Cup’s organising committee.
