Welsh rugby international Dan Lydiate has been signed as a brand ambassador for JCB Agriculture, the firm behind the famous yellow diggers.

As a part of the agreement, the flanker, who comes from a sheep farming family, will be provided with a JCB Loadall 526-56 Agri and a WORKMAX 800 D UTV – machines used to transport materials and animals.

JCB will be able to use the Racing Metro 92 player in marketing campaigns and at trade show events in Wales and France.

Speaking about the deal, Lydiate said: “I’m really looking forward to working with JCB, which is a great British company with a fantastic reputation for quality products, something we have first-hand experience of on the farm.”

Edward Roach, JCB Sales & Marketing Manager, added: “Dan is a tough player, with real physical presence and strength who always shows maximum commitment, something he shares with JCB machines.”

The sponsorship deal was arranged in a joint venture between Dan’s representative Derwyn Jones Agency and Cory Richards, director of sports marketing agency 11:20.
