Walmart to Sponsor College Basketball’s Carrier Classic

Walmart will sponsor the Carrier Classic college basketball games to take place  in Mount Pleasant on Nov. 9.

The sponsorship announcement came Wednesday for the games, which will be held aboard the U.S.S. Yorktown at Patriots Point.

“With Walmart’s support we can now deliver every American’s simple message of ‘Thank you’ into the largest ever veteran’s appreciation campaign for all those who have served our country and the over 25 million active duty and veterans,” said Ken Kinnear, director for Morale Entertainment Foundation.

The men’s game will feature Ohio State and Marquette, while the women’s game pits Ohio State versus Notre Dame.
