Vodafone Spain Joins Forces with FIBA World Cup & FEB

Vodafone Spain has become a national supporter of the FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain next year, therapy as well as a sponsor of the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB).

The Spanish arm of the telecom company will become a technology partner to the national team and will see 2006 World Cup winner Jorge Garbajosa and current women’s player Amaya Valdemoro become ambassadors to their brand.

António Coimbra, Chief Executive of Vodafone Spain, said: “The values of basketball in general and of the Spanish national team in particular fit perfectly with the image that Vodafone wants to transmit.

“We are delighted to be part of this sporting initiative, one of the most exciting in recent years in Spain, which will culminate in the 2014 Basketball World Cup in Spain.”

FEB President Jose Luis Saez confirmed that Vodafone completed the ‘pyramid of partners’ and believed they would all ‘bring considerable quality’ to the growth of basketball.
