U.S. Air Force Continues Sponsorship of Richard Petty Motorsport
February 5, 2013
The U.S. Air Force will sponsor Richard Petty Motorsports once again this season. The Air Force will be a primary sponsor for Aric Almirola’s car for two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races, and they will also be an associate sponsor for the whole season.
A special U.S. Air Force paint scheme will adorn Almirola’s No. 43 Ford Fusion on the Memorial Day weekend race at Charlotte Motor Speedway and the Fourth of July weekend race at Daytona International Speedway.
This will be the Air Force’s fifth year as a partner with Richard Petty Motorsports and the 13th season it will be associated with NASCAR. They will continue their marketing activities at NASCAR events throughout the season, including interactive displays and swear-in ceremonies of Airmen in the Delayed Entry Program at NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races.
Almirola was born on Elgin Air Force base and his father served in the air force. He will take part in the at-track sear-in ceremonies.
He said: “I’m really proud of how Richard Petty Motorsports helps connect the Air Force with race fans. We go out to the Air Force display and the swear-ins at the track, and it’s great to see people lined up wanting to learn about the technology and the opportunities available. It’s a perfect partnership, especially for me, having a lifelong history with the Air Force.”
