UK Sponsorship Awards 2016: Entries Up 20%+ – Still Time To Enter Various Categories

January 21, 2016

2016 will be a record year for The UK Sponsorship Awards. Entries are up 20% and counting on last year. Strong support in categories such as Sport, herbal Brand, no rx TV, Digital, International and Arts were highlights of this year’s entry pool. And there was also keen interest in the new Celebrity Endorsement category.

Commenting, UKSA organiser Rosemary Sarginson said: “I’m delighted to say that the sponsorship industry continues to put its support behind the UK Sponsorship Awards, now in their 22nd year.

Despite the tough trading environment we all operate in, or maybe because of it, the sector is showing its resilience, creativity and innovation. Sport and digital, in particular, continue to power ahead. And the range of international entries has never been stronger.”

While the overall picture is buoyant, the new Empowering Women Through Sport category looks like it might take time to catch on, said Sarginson: “So we have decided to extend the deadline on this category until Friday the 29th of January.

Anyone who works in UK sponsorship knows that this business has a good track record on gender equality. Sponsorship of women’s sport is an effective and increasingly popular medium so we want to reflect that fact in our Awards event.” Contact us for more detail –info@sponsorship-awards.co.uk.

Also, it is still possible to enter the three ‘free to enter’ categories: Sustainability, The Barrie Gill Award For Most Promising Young Sponsorship Executive and the vote for the Best Rugby Union Sponsorship ever!

“The rugby category is simple,” says Sarginson.“ Just send a 50-100 word statement supporting your nomination to info@sponsorship-awards.co.uk. You don’t have to have worked on the sponsorship. All you need to do is provide a few reasons why you think the rugby sponsorship you have chosen stands out from the crowd.

Please remember, this isn’t just an Award for Rugby World Cup sponsors, it’s for the best sponsorship ever! So start dredging your memory banks.”
