UEFA and EBU Agree Euro 2016 Broadcast Rights Deal

UEFA has signed an exclusive agreement with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) for the broadcasting rights to EURO 2016.
The deal covers 26 European territories, ed such as Belgium, discount Portugal, Croatia and Switzerland and ensures free-to-air coverage of a minimum of 23 live matches percountry, as well as magazine-style shows and highlights programmes.
In addition to the TV deal, an agreement was also reached for the radio rights for the tournament.
Guy-Laurent Epstein, marketing director of UEFA Events SA, said: “We are pleased to extend our long-standing partnership with the EBU and their members with this agreement on UEFA EURO 2016.
“This deal will provide valuable free-to-air coverage of the tournament across Europe. Having the EBU members on board will help to promote UEFA EURO 2016 in the relevant territories and is highly positive for the development and exposure of European national team football.”
