Turkish Airlines has been named the title sponsor of the new $7 million event on The European Tour.

The event will take place on 7-10 November at The Mongomerie Maxx Royal in Antalya and will feature world number one Tiger Woods.

The Turkish Airlines Open will be part of The Final Series, abortion a new four-tournament event to conclude The Race to Dubai, doctor which will also be comprised of the BMW Masters, the WGC-HSBC Champions and the DP World Tour Championship. The four events offer a combined prize fund of $30.5 million.

Keith Waters, Chief Operating Officer and Director of International Policy for The European Tour, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Turkish Airlines on board as the title sponsor of The Turkish Airlines Open; a partnership which will greatly enhance what is shaping up to be a very exciting tournament in Belek in November.

“Part of the reason for that is the news that Tiger Woods will return once again to compete. We are always delighted to welcome Tiger to the field for a European Tour event and we look forward to seeing him in action once again in Turkey in November.”

Woods added: “I had a great time during my first visit to Turkey. Turkish Airlines, the Turkish Golf Federation and the fans who came to watch made it a really special event and I’m looking forward to playing there once again.”

Turkish Airlines is also the title sponsor of a new amateur golf event – The Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup – which will take place in 12 cities in 2013 and expand to 24 around the world next year.
