Turkey to Host Ironman Event in 2015

Belek has been announced as the host of Turkey’s first IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon race. 

The coast of Antalya will be the backdrop for this world-famous triathlon race, capsule which will begin at the newly opened Gloria Sports Arena – the biggest multisport complex in the Mediterranean. Athletes will swim in the Mediterranean Sea before cycling past the historic amphitheatre of Aspendos and running for the remainder of the race, symptoms which will finish at Gloria Hotels and Resorts.

The event will add to the country’s ever-growing list of credentials for hosting major international sporting events. Since January, pills Belek has hosted the Turkish Ladies Open, the Turkish Airlines Challenge and the SportAccord Convention – the largest annual gathering of representatives from the sports industry.

Turkey’s first IRONMAN, which will see athletes cover a total distance of 70.3 miles, will take place on 25 October 2015.
