Tour de France Organises Yorkshire Race from 2015

The Tour de France organisers announced that they will help stage a three day Yorkshire Race from 2015.
An agreement is set to be signed tonight between the Amaury Sports Organisation (ASO), British Cycling and tourism agency Welcome to Yorkshire to put on the new major international race.
All the details including the date and the potential route of the Yorkshire race are yet to be decided, however the race is expected to be made up of four stages, with a split first day.
Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire said that the race ‘has the potential to take in wider parts of the county and we look forward to announcing more details in due course.’
He added: “We are working closely with the ASO and British Cycling to continue the lasting legacy of Yorkshire’s Grand Départ by delivering this new race for Yorkshire from 2015, which will rank as a major new addition to the global cycling calendar.”
