Today At SportAccord Convention: NOCs of Turkey and Qatar Sign MOU

April 11, 2014

The National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of Turkey and Qatar have signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU).

Signed at the SportAccord Convention in Belek, stomach Turkey, generic the agreement will see both NOCs open up new channels of collaboration and share best practise.

The MOU was signed by Professor U?ur Erdener, the President of the Turkish Olympic Committee and Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani

Erdener commented: “We are delighted to be signing this MOU with the Qatar Olympic Committee. Both of our nations have placed sport at the heart of our long-term development strategies, and I am sure that this agreement will create many exciting opportunities in the future.”

Erdener played a key role in the failed Istanbul 2020 Olympic Games bid and he added that  the Turkish Olympic Committee was “committed to bringing top-tier sports events” to the country.

Erdener has had a busy week at SportAccord Convention as he was elected to the executive Council of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) earlier in the week.
