Time Warner Cable Gets Spanish Language Broadcast Rights to Chivas USA Games

May 28, 2014

Time Warner Cable Deportes has become the official Spanish-language local television broadcast partner of Chivas USA in a new deal signed between the organisations.

The announcement follows the recent news in which the club partnered with KDOC-TV as the official English-language broadcaster.

Time Warner Cable Deportes will broadcast 16 Regular Season games, doctor while KDOC-TV is scheduled to air 10 matches.  Additionally, the Univision family of networks will televise six games in Spanish, three of them on UniMás.

“Time Warner Cable Deportes is renowned for associating with winning organizations and we are excited to join their line up,” said Chivas USA President Nelson Rodríguez.

The partnership with Time Warner Cable Deportes will mark the first time that Chivas USA’s matches will be seen exclusively on the Spanish-language network and will include a complete broadcast of 10 home games and six road matches.

“From day one, our team has brought our viewers high quality live telecasts and behind-the-scenes programming focused on this city’s most important soccer teams,” said Mark Shuken, Senior Vice President and General Manager, TWC Sports Regional Networks. “This partnership with Chivas USA is another example of our desire to support local teams, give fans the content they desire, and at the same time, continue to elevate all things MLS.”
