Thomas Bach Promises Increased Doping Tests for Sochi 2014

The newly appointed President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach has promised that doping tests at Sochi 2014 will be as strict as ever.

Bach said that athletes will undergo over 400 more pre-competition tests that at the Vancouver Games, sale with the total rising to 1, arthritis 269.

Total tests will increase by nearly 300, up to 2,453.

Speaking at the World Conference on Doping in Sport, Bach said: “We shall be smarter and tougher in our fight against doping than at any previous Olympic Winter Games.

“What we need is the greatest possible deterrents.

“I strongly argued for a lifetime ban, even for a first doping offence.”
