The 1st Mariner Arena Reverts Back to Old Name after Sponsor Ends Support

August 5, 2013

The 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, pills MD, denture | is set to return to its historical name, The Baltimore Arena following the expiration of their naming rights deal.

The 1st Mariner Bank’s naming rights to the venue expired earlier this year and, while Legends Sports and Marketing continue to seek out new prospective partners, it has been decided that the venue will revert back to its historical name while any negotiations are finalised.

George Manias, Vice President of Sponsorships and Naming Rights at The Baltimore Arena stated: “We have had positive ongoing discussions with a number of prospective partners, however, a deal of this magnitude typically takes anywhere from twelve to twenty-four months to complete.  So, in the interim, Legends as well as the principals at the Arena felt it best to return to the familiar and recognizable Baltimore Arena name.”

Frank Remesch, the venue’s general manager added, “It’s always difficult during the transitional period between naming rights. We are fortunate that the Baltimore Arena is easily identified by our patrons and the business community. We are proud of our history as The Baltimore Arena. As we look toward the future, The Baltimore Arena continues to make history and solidify our historic presence in Charm City.”

The Arena will in addition to its name take the stadium’s former logo. The process will initially start on its phone system and online presence.
