Tencent Sponsors Nanjing Summer Youth Olympics

China’s largest and most used internet service portal, Tencent, has agreed a deal to become the latest Tier One partner of the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing.

A special ceremony was held to announce the deal, attended by high profile athletes including Chen Ruolin, China’s four-time Olympic diving gold winner.

As the official Internet Service Partner of Nanjing 2014, Tencent will develop the official website for the Games. The site’s key features will include latest news and information, results, cultural and educational activities and interactive tools and games.

Tencent is ranked among the ten most visited websites in the world and is used by an estimated 100 million Chinese people.

Liu Yian, vice-secretary of Nanjing 2014, said: “Tencent is one of the largest and most influential website companies in China and will provide the Organising Committee with the necessary tools to promote the Youth Olympic Games to a wide international audience.”
