talkSPORT Confirmed as Live Broadcaster For Aviva Finals

April 13, 2012

Sports radio station, talkSPORT, has agreed to broadcast live commentary of the Aviva Premiership semi-finals and final after concluding a deal with Premiership Rugby.

All three matches will be broadcast live on talkSPORT, either on air or online, with both semi finals taking place on Saturday 12th May and the Aviva Premiership final, played at Twickenham, on Saturday 26th May.

talkSPORT will also continue to provide live reports from Aviva Premiership rugby games in the weeks leading up to the semi-finals.

In addition to this, Full Contact, talkSPORT’s Sunday evening rugby show, will have exclusive guests from the Aviva Premiership.

talkSPORT will also have prominent branding at the Aviva Premiership final at Twickenham and receive merchandise and tickets for competitions and giveaways, while the commentary will be supported by on air trails to promote both the coverage and ticket availability for the games. Last Autumn, talkSPORT was the exclusive UK radio broadcaster of the 2011 Rugby World Cup, the first time a commercial station has been the sole holder of the rights.

talkSPORT programme director Moz Dee said: ‘Our commitment to live rugby has grown over the past few years and proved really popular with both listeners and advertisers. As the Aviva Premiership season reaches its pinnacle it’s fantastic news that we’re able to bring full commentary of these three key games to listeners.’

‘I’m delighted to be working closely with talkSPORT for the culmination of another exciting Aviva Premiership Rugby season, said Dan Kiddle the Head of Marketing and Partnerships at Premiership Rugby.’

‘This strategic alliance will allow both brands to reach new audiences and will further strengthen Premiership Rugby’s ability to deliver news and exclusive interviews to rugby fans.’
