Symetra Extends Title Sponsorship of LPGA Development Tour

Symetra will remain as the title sponsor of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) development tour for a further three years after a new agreement was reached between the pair.

The Washington-based life insurance firm will sponsor the Symetra Classic and the Symetra Tour Championships as a part of the deal that runs until 2017.

Symetra’s vice president of marketing Jim Pirak said: “We’re pleased to extend our role as the Symetra Tour’s title sponsor, sale and we’re delighted to be affiliated with the rising golf stars of women’s golf.

“Over the last two years, we’ve watched our brand take flight along with the careers of many talented young golfers — and the response from our business partners and employees alike has been extraordinarily positive.”

Symetra will also sponsor the end of season awards, which is for the mid-point leader, rising star and player of the year.

The tour’s chief business officer Mike Nichols commented: “Symetra has been a committed partner for the past two years, and we are pleased that the company has extended the relationship as the umbrella sponsor of the tour and two tournaments.

“As the Symetra Tour continues its growth, we are proud to have a partner in Symetra that is fully invested in the future of women’s golf and sees the value of the tour in helping build their business.”
