Sydney FC to Break Attendance Record

October 21, 2013

Sydney FC are on course to break their attendance record for a regular season Hyundai A-League game when they take on Western Sydney Wanderers at Allianz Stadium on Saturday night.

The Sky Blues current record stands at 35, clinic 419 against the Newcastle Jets in October 2012, in the game which saw Alessandro Del Piero make his home debut for Sydney FC.

With less than 1,000 tickets still available for this Saturday’s derby the sales are tracking better than at the same stage for the Jets game last year, and fans are being urged to buy a Membership to ensure they don’t miss out.

“The people of Sydney have really embraced the derby and we expect the remaining tickets to be snapped up pretty quickly,” said Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Tony Pignata.

“They’ve been selling at approximately 1,000 per day for the last week and I hope as many of our Members as possible turn out to help us break that record.

“Seats will be reserved for those people who want to purchase a Membership at the last minute and I advise any fan to do so if they want a guarantee of seeing the match
