Surrey Cricket Partner with Right To Play

Surrey cricket has announced a partnership with global charity Right To Play for the 2012 season.

The aim is to raise £20, order 000 for the organisation’s programmes that use sport and play to promote education, health, life skills and peace to children in the developing world.

The link-up will be launched through a Right To Play-themed match in this year’s Friends Life t20 against local rivals Kent at the Kia Oval; Surrey will donate £5 for every ticket sold.

The club’s chief executive Richard Gould said: “It’s great for the club to be starting a partnership with Right To Play.

“We do a lot of work in the local community but as an internationally renowned club with an international ground and some of the best players in the world, we wanted to also support a global cause.

“Right To Play is the perfect charity for us to support as they are the world’s leading Sport for Development organisation; the power sport has to change lives is something we feel our fans and players can understand and will want to support.”
