Supporters Group Confident in Bid for Hearts, Financial Penalty Hearing Delayed
July 17, 2013
The supporters group behind one of the bids for Scottish Premier League (SPL) club Hearts are confident they have put together a strong bid for the club.
Foundation of Hearts independent chairman and Labour MP Ian Murray insisted that their bid offered the best chance of survival for the Edinburgh side.
Murray said: “The media have reported that HMFC Ltd and Five Stars Football Ltd are the other two bidding parties. The Foundation at this stage will not comment on the bids of other organisations.
“There’s been a fair amount of comment and conjecture, and perhaps even a bit of scaremongering from one or two individuals, but we’ve said all along we’re going to focus on what matters to us: Heart of Midlothian.
“The administrators need a period of time to do their job and we will just let them get on with that job.
“The Foundation of Hearts is confident that the bid submitted on its behalf is the best financial bid for Hearts and its creditors.”
Hearing delayed
In other news, the club must wait to hear if they will suffer a financial penalty for going into administration after a meeting at Hampden Park was delayed until August 1.
Officials from the club were due to attend the hearing on Thursday, but the compliance officer involved in the case is on paternity leave and the case was postponed.
