Supporters Direct and Exeter City Extend Partnership

August 1, 2013

League Two football club Exeter City and Supporters Direct have extended their partnership deal for the 2013/14 season.

The extended deal will see Supporters Direct renew its pitch-side advertising whilst also providing support to the Exeter City Supporters’ Trust.

Mark Bullock, prostate | Commercial Manager at Supporters Direct, said: “The fans at Exeter have been at the heart of delivering a stable club for the City and without the involvement of the community, the club simply wouldn’t exist.  It is a shining example of the extraordinary things that can happen when communities come together in football.

“This is a great continuation of a strong partnership between Exeter City and Supporters Direct and we wish them all the best for the forthcoming season.”

Julian Tagg, Chief Executive at Exeter City added: “We are delighted that we continue to have the backing of ‘Supporters Direct’, which we see as an endorsement of our club ethos and structure.

“We continue to compete on mostly uneven terms with clubs backed by wealthy owners and high levels of debt, so such support is important to us in our fight to be a socially responsible and financially viable, community owned club.”

The Exeter City Supporters’ Trust has pumped £1.2m ($1.82m) into the club since the Trust took ownership back in 2003.
