Super Bowl Winner Victor Cruz Inks Deal with IMG

February 7, 2012

IMG Worldwide, the global sports, fashion and media company, announced today that it has signed NY Giants superstar wide receiver Victor Cruz for marketing and endorsements.

Under the terms of the exclusive multi-year agreement, the IMG Clients Division will represent Cruz in development and organization projects including endorsement procurement, licensing, fashion strategy, speaking appearances, literary opportunities and other brand building initiatives.

The 26-year-old University of Massachusetts standout, where his 131 catches ranks him fourth on the all-time UMass receptions list, joined the NY Giants in 2010 as an undrafted free agent. His inspirational story has generated widespread fan support as Cruz has quickly evolved into one of the most exciting wide receivers in the NFL. In 16 games in 2011, Cruz had 82 receptions for 1,536 yards, a NY Giants season record and 96-yards per game average with nine touchdown catches, including a 99-yarder.

In the NFC title game against the San Francisco 49ers Cruz had 10 catches for 142 yards — all in the first half — as the Giants beat the 49ers 20-17 in overtime to advance to Sunday’s Super Bowl XLVI. Cruz entered yesterday’s Super Bowl as one of the game’s most dangerous big-play threats and, with double coverage most of the game, caught an Eli Manning pass for a touchdown to put the Giants ahead 9-0 in the first quarter giving Cruz the opportunity to do his now famous end-zone salsa dance.

“We are very excited to represent Victor,” said Carlos Fleming, the IMG Vice President who will manage the global team at IMG that will support Cruz’s off-field business. “In addition to being one of the most talented and exciting players in the game, Victor is a great person, a fan favorite with enormous opportunities ahead of him. Our job will be to deliver them to him.”

“I’m very pleased to be represented by IMG,” Cruz said. “They have a great reputation around the world. They have represented some of the most iconic athletes across a myriad of sports and I am honored to be among them.”
