Sunderland Renews Adidas Partnership
June 27, 2014
Premier League team Sunderland AFC have extended their partnership with German sportwear giant adidas.
The Black Cats initially became part of the iconic adidas stable in 2012, joining prestigious clubs such as Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, and the partnership continues to flourish.
The new deal sees the world-famous brand continue as SAFC’s official partner for all technical and performance kit and training wear through until the summer of 2020 – the longest kit deal in the club’s history.
Speaking about the partnership, Sunderland AFC’s chief executive, Margaret Byrne, said: “adidas are one of the most iconic sporting brands in the world and our partnership with them has gone from strength to strength in the last two years.
“We are looking forward to developing the growing interest in Sunderland AFC, both domestically and internationally, with adidas, a brand leader in world football.
Nick Craggs, adidas brand director, added: “adidas is immensely proud to be signing a new long term deal with Sunderland AFC, a club with such a fine tradition and outstanding fans.
“We pride ourselves on providing the players with the best in innovative kit designs to give them the best possible performance on the pitch and, equally, fans with a replica range that they are proud to wear. We look forward to continuing this excellent partnership into the 2014-15 season and beyond.”
