StubHub Remains Official Fan to Fan Ticket Marketplace for MLB.com

December 10, 2012

StubHub, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, and MLB Advanced Media LP (MLBAM), the interactive media and internet company of Major League Baseball, today announced that they have reached a five-year agreement for StubHub to continue to serve as the Official Fan to Fan Ticket Marketplace for MLB.com.

This renewal continues the original 2007 integration of a secondary ticketing provider and a major professional sports entity. The new agreement will continue to allow StubHub to serve as the online destination for fans to resell and purchase tickets safely, while being designated the Official Secondary Ticket Marketplace of MLB.com and the participating Major League Baseball clubs.

“This partnership broke new ground when it was first introduced, and it has allowed us to greatly improve the StubHub MLB fan experience,” said Chris Tsakalakis, President of StubHub. “The opportunity for StubHub to continue to partner with MLBAM is something we relish, especially as we look to continuously integrate new technology that will enhance the experience, particularly on mobile devices, for baseball fans.”

“Our original StubHub partnership provided a valuable service, giving fans a secure, simple and affordable solution for the secondary market, and this renewal reflects its successes in an ever-evolving space,” said Bob Bowman, President and CEO, MLBAM.

StubHub’s unique, unrestricted marketplace, dedicated solely to tickets, provides fans the choice to buy or sell their tickets in a safe, convenient and guaranteed environment. The company’s award-winning customer service and FanProtect™ Guarantee are attributes that have made StubHub a destination for millions of ticket buyers and sellers.
