StubHub Named Official Resale Partner of Gloucester Rugby

July 25, 2013

English Rugby Union club Gloucester has announced ticketing platform StubHub has become one of the club’s partners in a new three-year deal.

The partnership with Gloucester Rugby means that StubHub will be the official resale partner for Gloucester Rugby season ticket holders who wish to sell their tickets for home games they cannot attend.

The deal also includes shirt branding, with the StubHub logo positioned on the back of the shirt. This will be StubHub’s third official rugby partnership in the UK and ninth sports partnership in total.

Nick Harford, Director of Partnerships at StubHub, said: “We are delighted to welcome Gloucester Rugby as our third high profile rugby partner and look forward to helping their supporters buy and sell home game tickets on a safe and secure platform, backed by our comprehensive FanProtect Guarantee.

“Like Gloucester Rugby, at StubHub, we pride ourselves on delivering the best in class experience for fans, not just in sport but across music, theatre and other live events throughout the UK and Europe.”

Gloucester Rugby Commercial Manager Mike Turner said: “Gloucester Rugby are delighted to be in partnership with Stubhub, and join the sports fraternity already making the most of the Stubhub marketplace.

“Not only will the partnership help increase the profiles of both Gloucester Rugby and Stubhub, it will also add value to all Gloucester Rugby season ticket packages, while allowing even more supporters of all ages the opportunity to experience the unique Kingsholm atmosphere and revel in more great Gloucester Rugby triumphs.”

StubHub is America’s largest ticket resale marketplace and part of the eBay Inc family of companies. They launched in the US in 2000 and opened their first office outside North America in the UK in March 2012.
