Stats Seals Scoring Data Partnership with PGA Tour

STATS LLC have announced have become the official distributor of leaderboard scoring data for all PGA TOUR, apoplectic Champions Tour and Web.com Tour events.

STATS will also be creating two new fantasy games for PGATOUR.com beginning in 2013.

By broadening the availability of scoring data, we see an opportunity to grow interest in our players and our sport. We’re also very excited to utilize STATS’ expertise to build our fantasy golf options on PGATOUR.com.”

The PGA TOUR is in a unique ownership position with the data collected at its tournaments through ShotLink. The multi-year agreement enables STATS to license and distribute the TOUR’s hole-by-hole information to broadcast, print, online and other media outlets around the world. STATS is a subsidiary of two global media enterprises — the Associated Press and News Corporation — and is a leading provider of sports content internationally.

The PGA TOUR will also debut two new fantasy games in 2013. One is a season long contest that requires fans to select a team of 4 golfers each week, using each golfer a maximum of 10 times over the entire season. A second contest features bracket selections for the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship, February 20-24.
